Hungover Garden is a sustainable branding concept developed around transforming discarded and unwanted household items into unique handmade hanging planters and windchimes. The project explores how a strong visual identity can communicate the value of upcycling while challenging the idea that reused materials are simply waste. The brand was designed to capture the quirky, playful and unconventional personality of the products, with each piece embracing the imperfections and individuality that come from being handmade. A custom hand-drawn wordmark and organic visual elements were developed to give Hungover Garden a distinctive and approachable personality, while reinforcing the creative and handcrafted nature of the brand. The loose, imperfect qualities of the identity intentionally reflect the uniqueness of the upcycled products rather than presenting the brand as overly polished or traditional. Applied across packaging and promotional imagery, the visual system creates a consistent and recognisable brand experience while maintaining a sense of fun and individuality. Overall, Hungover Garden transforms sustainability into something expressive and full of character, demonstrating how discarded materials can be creatively reimagined into decorative objects with a new purpose and identity.
